Surveying
- Surveying refers to the method of making measurements of the relative positions of natural and man-made features available on the earth's surface and provides this information on maps or plans.
- Plans and Maps are the graphical representations of the structures and data present on the earth's surface on the horizontal plane.
- The map is drawn to some suitable scale. It shows the natural features of a country, such as towns, villages, roads, railways, rivers, etc.
- Maps may also include details of different engineering works, such as roads, railways, irrigation, canals, etc.
- A Plan is a large-scale representation whereas Map is a small-scale representation.
