Basic Fundamental

  • Units and Measurements
  • Vector and Scalar Quantity
  • Friction
  • Newton's Law of Motion
  • Rectilinear Motion
  • Projectile Motion
  • Circular Motion
  • Simple Harmonic Motion.

Fundamental and derived quantities.

  • A large number of physical quantities and every quantity needs a unit.
  • Fundamental quantities are only seven in number.

Some Fundamental Units

1. Length =meter(m)
2. Mass= Kilogram(kg
3. Time =Second (S
4. Electric Current = Ampere(A)
5. Thermodynamic temperature= Kelvin(K
6. Amount of Substance =Mole (mol)
7. Luminous intensity = Candela (cd)

Two supplementary units.

(i) Plane angle - radian (rad). (ii) Solid angle - Staradian (St.)

CGS Unit System

1. Length = centimeter(cm)
2. Mass = gram(g)
3. Time = seconds(s)
4. Force = dyne
5. Work = erg

FPS System

1. Length = foot(ft)
2. Mass = pound(lb)
3. Time = seconds(s)
4. Force = poundal
